TOP PLACES TO VISIT IN CEBU

Cebu is known as the Queen City of the South and once again hailed as the second best island in Asia following Boracay by the Condé Nast Traveler. No wonder it is visited by foreigners. Members of South Korean boy groups EXO, Wanna One, SHINee, VIXX, HOTSHOT were spotted by a fan in Cebu.

Planning to go to Cebu, and wonder what tourist spot in Cebu you should visit? Cebu has many beautiful spots and places to offer. Here are my top places that you should add to your list:

1. Sirao Flower Garden (Little Amsterdam of Cebu)

It is found in elevated spot in Busay area. Going there is like experiencing Netherlands.

2. 10,000 roses of Cebu

It is found in Cordova, Cebu. It has 10,000 artificial LED-powered roses surrounding the roses café & more.

3. Kawasan Falls

Found in Badian municipality. A breath-taking falls with turquoise water from mountain springs of Mantalongon mountain range Cebu.

4. Simala Church

Found in Sibonga, Southern town of Cebu. Its design is inspired by European cathedrals. This also reveals a culture that is deeply seated among Cebuanos – the essence of Roman Catholicism.

5. Temple of Leah

Found in Cebu Transcentral highway. The temple is inspired by Greek and Roman architectures. The temple is also the symbol of undying love of Teodorico Soriano Adarna to his wife, Leah Villa Albino-Adarna.

6. Osmeña Peak

Found in Mantalongon, Dalaguete. Its is the highest mountain in Cebu is a cluster of green jagged hills like a deformed twin of Chocolate Hills of Bohol hugging the shorelines of Badian.

7. Pescador Island

Found in Tañon Strait – few kilometers off the coast of Moalboal in the south of Cebu Island. It is one of the best diving spots in Cebu. Its island reef is a sandy slope covered with soft coral from 5–10 meters.

8. Tumalag Falls

Found in municipality of Oslob. The tumalag falls is a curtain like waterfalls that covers the entire cliff with cool and celar water.

9. Magellan's Cross

a Christian cross planted as ordered by Ferdinand Magellan upon arriving in Cebu in the Philippines. This cross is housed in a chapel next to the Basilica Menor del Santo Niño on Magallanes Street, just in front of the city center of Cebu City. A sign below the cross states that the original cross is encased inside the wooden cross made of tingalo wood. This is to protect the original cross from people who chipped away parts of the cross for souvenir purposes in the belief that the cross possesses miraculous powers.

10. Basilica del Sto. Niño

Just right beside the Magellan’s Cross is the oldest Christian church of the Philippines. Fray Andrés de Urdaneta, O.S.A. and Fray Diego de Herrera, O.S.A. founded Basilica del Sto Niño in 1565.
